Certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABCG), the Supportive Services Team's genetic counselor:

• works with patients to provide extensive genetic screenings and counseling about the impact of genetics on their treatment and their lives
• provides support to oncologists working with high risk patients on hereditary cancers

NYUCI's genetic counselor is part of the Lynne Cohen Foundation Women's High Risk Program and the 100 Women In Hedge Funds National Ovarian Cancer Early Detection Program. The genetic counselor's activities are overseen by a geneticist from NYU's Human Genetics Program.
