Cancer Immunology Program
Research Areas
The NYU Cancer Institute Cancer Immunology Program provides investigators with the means to address key questions in three thematic areas:
- Lymphoma/leukemia biology, including the mechanisms of lymphomagenesis (the development of lymphomas) and therapies that exploit the biology of immune cell malignancies, such as anti-idiotype vaccines and antibody-based therapies targeting cancer cells.
- Immune responses, including aspects of antigen presentation, signaling, effector programs, and immunologic tolerance.
- Vaccine development, including active trials with dendritic cell-based vaccines for melanoma and vaccines under development for prostate cancer and multiple myeloma. NYU's Vaccine and Cell Therapy Laboratory greatly facilitates progress in this area.
