Histopathology Core, Manhattan
Services
Services include tissue preparation, processing, embedding, sectioning, and histochemical staining for paraffin and cryo-embedded (frozen) tissues from IACUC-approved animal studies. The Core also provides microtomy services (sectioning) of paraffin-embedded human specimens obtained through IRB-approved sources. Microtomy of cryo-embedded (frozen) human specimens can be performed through Tissue Acquisition and Banking Services (TABS).
Another mission of the Histopathology Core is the education and training of researchers and students. The Core provides resources and guidance to investigators who need to oversee all stages of specimen preparation or who have little experience working with whole tissues or organisms.
Customized services can be provided and existing services varied according to the needs of the research community.
