Immunohistochemistry Core (IHC)
The Manhattan-based Immunohistochemistry Core (IHC) provides the following services:
- extensive options for special and routine histochemical and immunohistochemical labeling of both human and animal model tissue sections (the Core's main focus)
- basic histopathologic services for human specimens as well as extensive immunohistochemical services for both human and animal studies
- initial processing steps (grossing, tissue preparation, processing/dehydration, and embedding) for all human specimens destined for standard paraffin embedding
- microtomy of paraffin-embedded samples
- OCT embedding and cryosectioning of frozen human samples
- a state-of-the-art computer-controlled automated immunohistochemical system with a menu of over 600 antibodies and established protocols for antigen retrieval and immunostaining in human and animal tissues samples
